Materials You'll Need:

  • Medium weight yarn in red, white, and black
  • Crochet hook size H (5.0mm)
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors
  • Optional: Pom-pom maker or faux fur pom-pom

Instructions:

Santa Baby Cap:

  1. Round 1: With red yarn, make a magic ring. (6 sc)
  2. Round 2: 2 sc in each sc around. (12 sc)
  3. Round 3: *Sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc*; repeat * around. (18 sc)
  4. Round 4-12: Sc in each sc around.
  5. Round 13: *Sc in next 2 sc, dec (sc2tog)*; repeat * around. (12 sc)
  6. Round 14: Sc in each sc around.
  7. Round 15: *Sc in next sc, dec (sc2tog)*; repeat * around. (8 sc)
  8. Round 16: Dec (sc2tog) around. (4 sc)
  9. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Brim:

  1. Round 1: With white yarn, join to any sc on the hat. Sc evenly around the bottom edge of the hat. (48 sc)
  2. Round 2: Sc in each sc around.
  3. Round 3: *Sc in next 2 sc, inc (2 sc in 1 sc)*; repeat * around. (72 sc)
  4. Round 4-6: Sc in each sc around.
  5. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Pom-pom (Optional):

  1. Wind yarn around a pom-pom maker or your fingers several times.
  2. Tie the yarn securely in the center and remove the pom-pom maker.
  3. Trim the excess yarn to create a fluffy pom-pom.
  4. Sew the pom-pom to the top of the hat.

Santa Baby Bib:

  1. Row 1: With white yarn, ch 55.
  2. Row 2: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (54 sc)
  3. Row 3-10: Sc in each sc across.
  4. Row 11: *Sc in next 4 sc, dec (sc2tog)*; repeat * across. (42 sc)
  5. Row 12-15: Sc in each sc across.

  7. Row 17: Sc in each sc across.
  8. Row 18-21: Sc in each sc across.
  9. Row 22: *Sc in next 2 sc, dec (sc2tog)*; repeat * across. (18 sc)
  10. Row 23: Sc in each sc across.
  11. Row 24: *Sc in next sc, dec (sc2tog)*; repeat * across. (9 sc)
  12. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Neckband:

  1. With red yarn, ch 35.
  2. Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (34 sc)
  3. Join to first sc with a sl st.
  4. Sew or crochet the neckband to the bib, leaving an opening at the back for the neck.
